Food Library and Open Food Facts on Mac

Search bundled foods, inspect sources, and import reviewed Open Food Facts results.

The Mac Food Library keeps search, source details, nutrition, and your own reusable foods close together.

Inspect a bundled food

Choose a food result to open its detail. Review its source identity, serving information, nutrition, Favorites, and Collections before adding it to a meal.

Import from Open Food Facts

  1. Open Food Library, then User Library.
  2. Choose Add Food, then Open Food Facts.
  3. Search the external catalog and select the closest match.
  4. Review the result and import it to your User Library.
  5. Choose serving, meal, and date when you log it.

An imported result becomes a reviewable User Library food; Open Food Facts is separate from the bundled USDA catalog.
Public food data can contain gaps.

Check the product, serving, and nutrients against its label. Search again or create a food manually if the result is not a good match.
